Kigus come in many shapes and forms, and never has this been more apparent then on Saturday the 6th of November at Allen Gardens, Brick Lane, in London, when over three hundred people walked, or rather piggy backed, two by two onto a handmade ark. Cows, sheep, squirrels, crocodiles - you name it - were out in force, with some additions from Diesel Be Stupid competition winner Abi Lewis’s imagination, which we imagine weren’t included in the original line up. Why? Diesel have been asking us to "ignore the sensible and be stupid" over the last couple of months. They challenged the public to come up with a momentarily stupendous idea, of which the winner's would became a reality; a Guinness Book of Records largest piggy back reality with the aforementioned twist.
The popularity of Kigus has risen since being launched in the UK, having first become known in Japan, and it's now befriended by singers such as Professor Green and Lilly Allen. Following on from a Halloween Diesel Kigu party the week before, it seems the onesies are here to stay. Diesel has caused laughter and smiles with imagery such as women with cameras flashing their crotches, men racing cars and a couples kissing out the window of two separate cars. Why be sensible when being stupid looks so much fun?

Diesel Be Stupid competition winner Abi Lewis invited S P A C E C R A F T to summon animals from the darkest depths of their imagination to fill an Ark. Moored in Corbit place, this Saturday the 6th November the ark will come to life with S P A C E C R A F T’s dark and twisted creations.
In this Ark all the animals are roaming free, escaped or let lose from their crates leaving only suggestion behind. Wild eyes lurking, balloons are buoyant, meat hooks hang expectant whilst dark shapes of maybe fill the room. S P A C E C R A F T’s play on the seen and unseen, the liminal and theatrical leaves guests to explore this listing environment while feeling the many eyes of the arks inhabitants on them at all times.
Its bright above but dark dark dark below. I hear the rains are coming but the apocalypse is more fun with friends. Be stupid.
After an onslaught of stupid ideas for their £50K competition, the winning entry for Diesel'sBe Stupid campaign sees its next stage: implementation. Over 300 people paired up in Kigu animals (costumes going two-by-two) will be needed to complete the Guinness World Record-breaking piggy-back race event in London this week. Pre-register online and go down to your closest Diesel store (Covent Garden or Carnaby St) to collect your Free Race Kit. Winners will get to keep their Kigu costumes and the first 300 runners will be invited to the Diesel Ark After Party, as designed by the winner Abi and featuring animals from her imagination...
